iPhone location journals
Use your location records in another tool
Choose where your records go, check the result, and keep the original journal. File handoff and live delivery have different requirements.
Choose a destination for the task
Your Whereday journal is stored on your iPhone. Copying a file or enabling webhooks sends records outside that local journal. The destination’s storage, access, and retention settings then apply.
Dawarich: send GPS points to your receiver
Use Whereday’s optional Overland webhook with a matching Dawarich batch endpoint. The walkthrough includes a native three-point delivery test, checked database persistence, and a receiver screenshot. It separates a successful connection response from stored points. This is for people who already operate a receiver; Dawarich also offers its own tracking app.
Obsidian: read visits as a Markdown note
Export a Markdown visit table and copy it into a desktop vault. The guide includes a native exporter sample, checked note rendering, and a desktop Maps plugin check with two synthetic visit markers. Mobile transfer and scheduled vault delivery remain unverified.
Keep a copy you can verify
A readable note or a receiver’s points are not a complete backup of every Whereday setting, visit, or outing edit. Follow the backup checklist when your goal is restoration. Review the format reference and privacy boundaries before choosing a destination.
